[WATCH] Holy Spirit Alumnus Sings National Anthem at NBA Game
Here's an update on a Holy Spirit High School alumnus living her best life.
Vanessa DeJean, a 2022 graduate of Absecon's Holy Spirit High and a student at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, is making herself known in Beantown.
Holy Spirit Graduate Sings National Anthem at NBA Game
The South Jersey singer was in the spotlight opening the festivities at the pre-season game between the Boston Celtis and the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday at Boston's TD Garden.
Vanessa DeJean absolutely killed it while singing the National Anthem before the game.
This isn't the first time Vanessa has done the honors with the Star-Spangled Banner at a Boston pro sporting event. She also sang the National Anthem for the Red Sox at famed Fenway Park.
Vanessa DeJean's Road to Berklee School of Music
I remembered hearing Vanessa's name over the years and I did a little checking about her journey as a singer in our area.
Vanessa got started at the ripe old age of five, singing Guns 'N Roses, "Sweet Child of Mine" in a performance at the Bensalem (PA.) School of Music Arts.
In 2019, when Vanessa was a Holy Spirit sophomore, she won the Hamilton Mall's Got Talent contest.
She also starred in musical productions over her time at Holy Spirit.
Now she is impressing at one of the most well-known music colleges in America and signing at the Boston Garden. Congratulations!
Here's the video of Vanessa singing the Star-Spangled Banner before the game the other night...
