Millville Woman Found Dead, Search for Hit & Run Vehicle
You may remember how we first heard about this crime.
Early Tuesday, Oct. 23, Millville Police began searching for a silver Infinity G35 with NJ plates, after neighbors' camera footage showed the car with its headlights off, speeding away on Glenside Roa around 11:15 pm.
Caroline Bump's body was found on the road at about 1:30 am. She lived one block away from the scene.
News reports say two flower bouquets are still on the side of the road where they were left in her memory.
The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office started looking for Breanna Rowley and her car by the next day.
What Police Say
Brenna Rowley has been charged with homicide, vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident causing death, and other charges in the death of Caroline Bump.
The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office said the two women knew each other and were with each other the night Caroline Bump died.
They say Rowley hit Caroline Bump at a high rate of speed while she was standing in the road and then drove off without helping her or reporting the incident.
Three days later, Rowley was arrested. She is in the Salem County Jail.
Police say Rowley also tried to cover up the damage to her car and tried to avoid being found.
