Video Shows Brooke Shields Learning to Walk After Breaking Femur
Talk about making you feel old. Have you seen the video of actress Brooke Shields learning to walk again after breaking her femur?
It is deeply alarming seeing your boyhood crush struggling just to walk down a hallway. Something has definitely come between Brooke and her Calvins and it's a hospital gown.
Shields, 55, posted a hospital gown Instagram video showing her taking extremely tentative steps with metal crutches and non-slip socks visible on her feet.

"Broke my femur. Beginning to mend," Shields wrote. "No matter what your challenge is, make a positive choice, for yourself, to move forward. #BeginningisNow."
Shields gave no cause for the injury to her femur, or thigh bone, the largest bone in the human body. Nor did she give a timetable for the injury and recovery. But, she is obviously struggling.
As embarrassing as this is to admit, I've had a thing for Brooke Shields ever since that movie, Blue Lagoon, where she comes of age as a castaway. Remember that one?
That movie spoke to young Eddie in a way that me happy to be alive, if you know what I mean. Then I happened to catch a showing of Blue Lagoon one night a few years ago on cable and it made me question my own taste. But, when I was a kid, Brooke had it going on.
So to see her in those hospital safety socks struggling to take a step was a somewhat jarring experience, so I am sending out get well fast wished to Brooke Shields. We'll always have Blue Lagoon.
Get better, Brooke!
