
South Jersey Head-On Crash Traps Victim, Injures Three
Crews from several South Jersey fire and rescue companies responded to the site of a serious head-on accident in the 800 block of South Shore Road in the Palermo section of Upper Township on Saturday afternoon.
According to a Facebook post from the Marmora Volunteer Fire Company, they were dispatched along with Seaville Fire and Rescue, Tuckahoe Volunteer Fire Company, and the Upper Township Division of EMS to a two-vehicle head-on collision with one person trapped in the vehicle.
Injured Accident Victims
The firefighters arrived at the accident scene to find that one accident victim was trapped inside a vehicle, and another was found on the ground. One other person had been able to get out of the vehicle.
The first responders called in two paramedic units from AtlantiCare and a medevac helicopter for the person trapped in the vehicle.
The Ocean City Fire Department was also called in to handle a landing zone for the helicopter and to send an ambulance to take the third victim to the hospital.
Two patients were taken to the hospital by ambulance, and the third was airlifted to the hospital.
There was no update on the conditions of the three victims.
New Jersey State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
