Ho-Ho-Kus- Bergen County
Ho-Ho-Kus, is a borough located in North Jersey in Bergen County. The origin of the name Ho-Ho-Kus, is in dispute. Through the years, it's been associated with several different Indian terms. The one seen as most widely accepted would be from a Delaware Indian term for Red Cedar.
Ho-Ho-Kus has several historical locations as well as a downtown area that has an old-time feel to it.
Shamong- Burlington County
Shamong is in Burlington County and boasts a beautiful suburban landscape. The Lenape Indians were the original settlers and the name comes from the Indian word that means place of the big horn.
Atsion Lake in Shamong, is a nice tourist attraction. Swim in the lake and enjoy a picnic. Tourists notice right away that the lake will sometimes be a shade of red. No worries, though. The red is from the cedar trees around the lake.

Peapack-Gladstone- Somerset County
Peakpack-Gladstone as is the case with many New Jersey town names, Peapack comes from the Lenape word, PeaPackton, meaning marriage of the waters.
