UPDATE 4:30 am Tuesday

Two people aboard a single-engine plane died Monday afternoon when it crashed in the large front yard of a home on Parvin Mill Road in Upper Deerfield Township, Cumberland County.

In a statement, the FAA says a single-engine Champion Aeronca 7AC crashed in the yard at around 1:52 pm.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are on the scene and are in charge of investigating the crash.

The investigators say the small plane had taken off from Buck's Airport in the Bridgeton area, about 1/2 mile from where it crashed.

They say two men were aboard, the pilot and a passenger. News reports say that the family was on the scene by Monday night, but the men's identities have not been released yet.

Reports say that investigators have removed the plane from the yard and will now try to determine what caused the crash.
