It seems only right to remember the passing of a beloved veteran of the Little Egg Harbor Twp. Police. Tag, a 10-year veteran K9 with L. E. H. Police, died a year ago on Feb 7, 2018.

According to a post from 2018, his K-9 handler,  Little Egg Harbor Twp. Police Officer Tonya Anderson, Tag had been a certified duel purpose police K-9 (patrol & narcotic detection).

He was responsible for the successful tracking and apprehension of burglary suspects, locating other missing/endangered persons, recovery of evidence and stolen items, and countless drug arrests.

Tag had retired in July 2017 but continued to make a few public appearances because he was so popular and loved to meet and greet children at public events like National Night Out.

Here is a link to the Facebook post from Little Egg Harbor/Tuckerton P.B.A concerning Tag's death. The loving tribute for Tag from Officer Anderson is both beautiful and sad, expressing many of the same feelings most dog owners have after the loss of their best friend.
