We all just survived through the first major snow storm of 2021 and now it is time to clean up from the aftermath.

Among that aftermath is a historical sight to see on a Cape May beach.

The crazy shift in tides that occurred from the crazy storm has now made abandoned, century-old railroad tracks, which are officially known as ghost tracks, visible on the Sunset Beach in Cape May!

Photos surfaced on the Sunset Beach Facebook Page on Sunday at around 2:00 PM.

The ghost tracks are back! An amazing piece of history exposes itself at low tide.
Gift shop and mini golf are open Friday through Monday 10am-5:30pm.
Thank you Arron Rothwell for the photos!

Just how old are these tracks? At least 75 years if not more because according to NJ.com"they were used in the early to mid-1900s to support sand mining and munitions testing during World War I."

This basically means that these tracks were used to remove sand from the beach and then pulverize it to turn it into glass or cement.

These tracks first became visible back in November of 2014 and before that, people did not know that they existed.

Since then, they have been spotted in the Summer of 2017 and during March of 2018. These tracks are so far down that they only become visible after a super storm or a Nor'easter.

You can take a look at the photos above but if you want to check them out in person, head to the Sunset Beach in Cape May as soon as possible because who knows how long these tracks will be visible for.

They may even be gone already because they are only visible when the tide is extremely low!

But wow....when little hints of history pop up, it never ceases to amaze me.
