The South Jersey Disney Store is one of the Disney Store locations scheduled to close on or before September 15, according to USA Today.

The Disney Store in the Deptford Mall is one of four Disney Stores that will be closing statewide, leaving only the Elizabeth store open in New Jersey.

The Walt Disney Co. is shuttering nearly 60 of its full-size retail locations across the country. The company updated its store locator tool to identify stores closing "on or before" Sept. 15.

The company announced in March that it planned to reduce the number of bricks and mortar locations to concentrate on its e-commerce business.

"While consumer behavior has shifted toward online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer,” Stephanie Young, president of consumer products, games, and publishing, said in a statement at the time.

After the latest round of closures, only 25 stores will remain nationwide. The retailer said it will expand the Disney Store at Target concept to more than 160 of its locations across the country by the end of the year.

There are now 53 small shops inside Target stores. Locations for the new Disney shops inside Target stores have not yet been released.

In the Deptford Mall, everything in the store is already 20% off, and all sales are final. The Cherry Hill Disney Store closed earlier this summer.

“Over the past few years, we’ve been focused on meeting consumers where they are already spending their time, such as the expansion of Disney store shop-in-shops around the world," Young said. "We now plan to create a more flexible, interconnected e-commerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all our franchises.”
