Breaking news from the New Jersey State Police via Ocean County Scanner News.

A pizza delivery vehicle was stolen from its driver Wednesday evening in Somers Point and the suspect then became involved in a high-speed pursuit with New Jersey State Police northbound on the Garden State Parkway during the end of the evening rush hour.

The pursuit began in Somers Point when a 2010 Ford Edge was stolen from a pizza delivery driver.

Oceancountyscannernews.com reports that the high-speed pursuit continued northbound from Somers Point, which is exit 30 of the Garden State Parkway to exit 77 reaching speeds of around 100 miles per hour.

Exit 77 is the Bayville, Ocean County exit of the Garden State Parkway. Various Ocean County police agencies apparently aided the State Police and the chase ended with the suspect stopping near the exit 77 GSP interchange ab a little before 7 pm.

State Police report the suspect is in custody and the pursuit is over.
