Somers Point, NJ Two-Car Crash Results In Trapped Driver, Injuries
We have obtained official confirmation from a Somers Point City Council Member and we can now report the following:
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, there was a two-car crash on Somers Point Mays Landing Road, also known as Route 559.
Our source confirmed:
“Yesterday, just after 5:00 p.m., a driver was trapped, the door was unable to open, no serious injuries. The accident occurred near The Greate Bay Fitness Center.”
It appears that one of the cars drifted over from their lane causing the impact.
This crash is a completely separate incident then a second car crash that occurred yesterday in Somers Point.
Here is a link to additional Townsquare Media coverage of this incident, when a car crashed directly inside of the Somers Point, New Jersey T-Mobile store.
The Somers Point, Mays Landing Road (Route 559) is a two-lane road, that was built during much more rural times.
The speed limit used to be significantly lower in the early days. It now requires the total attention of every driver. If you become distracted for even a fraction of a second, the results can be fatal.
