
“Destroyed Everything”: Fire Hits Somers Point Business
An early morning fire on Saturday on Bay Avenue in Somers Point did significant damage to Serenity Now Spa.
TheSomers Point Volunteer Fire Company 1 was dispatched to the fire at about 1 am on Saturday at Serenity Now Massage and Facial Spa in the 800 block of Bay Avenue.
Firefighters from Somers Point and several other local fire departments fought the blaze in 8-degree temperatures for several hours.
No Injuries were reported.
"A Devastating Fire...Destroyed Everything"
Serenity Now Massage and Facial Spa, which has been in business since 2008, posted on Facebook later Saturday that the fire had gutted the business.
With sad news Serenity Now Massage & Facial Spa had a devastating fire in the early am and has destroyed everything. My staff and I who love what we do and love our clients we are extremely upset this has happened. We have been serving the area since 2008. To see it be destroyed is heartbreaking. We are now closed until further notice.

Hundreds of customers and freinds have responded to the post, offering their condolences to the owner, Cindy Barron Duskin, and her staff about the fire damage.
Oh no! I love Serenity Now and everyone there! I’ve been coming there since Day one! Thankfully, you are all ok and can come back!

Fire Companies Providing Mutual Aid
Can you imagine spending several hours outside fighting a fire in that brutally cold weather?
The Somers Point Volunteer Fire Company thanked the local fire companies that were called in to help them with Saturday morning's fire.
They included fire companies from Scullville, Bargaintown, Longport, Linwood, Northfield, and Egg Harbor Township Emergency Medical Services.
