Come Spring 2018, the skywalk connecting the Chelsea Hotel and the Tropicana will be open!

The project was approved by the City Council on Wednesday evening and is projected to cost at least $5 million -- cha ching!

“It’s already under construction. We are really excited about this addition. It gives us 330 rooms that have a boutique hotel feel that gives you access to all of the variety that Tropicana has to offer,” said Tony Rodio, president and CEO of Tropicana Entertainment Inc.

This addition will offer a closer walk from the front desk to certain areas of the hotel and also opens up the opportunity for other areas of the hotel to be given a make over.

“We have already partnered with the Gilchrist Restaurant. They are a great local name, and they have been great so far,” Rodio said. “In the future, we are going to announce what we are going to do with the fifth-floor restaurant.”
