Shoppers in SJ Camp Out for PS5, Even in a Pandemic [VIDEO]

COVID-19 wasn't enough to keep gamers in South Jersey home. Instead, many camped out at their local gaming store in the hopes of nabbing 2020's hottest Christmas gift: Sony's PlayStation 5.

Some shoppers set up their spot in line outside a Cherry Hill GameStop as early as 4:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day waiting for a shot to buy a PS5, reports 6abc.com.

That GameStop location reportedly only had two of the gaming consoles in stock. Just TWO!

Regarding the Black Friday experience during a the pandemic, hopeful shopper Jason Yates told 6abc, "So we are taking precautions. We're not ignoring that. It is a pandemic. We're doing everything that's socially responsible, but we're just going to wait."

With it's reported 'lightning speed', 'stunning games', and 'breathtaking immersion' into 3D technology, PlayStation 5 is the the season's most coveted item.

But, the console's are pretty much a unicorn right now. Even the head of Sony told new York Post they're pretty much all gone. I checked Amazon, and none are available there either. So, I guess it's a choice between going nuts to put the PS5 under the tree for your family this Christmas, and camping out in lines like our friends in Cherry Hill did overnight, or exercising patience and waiting a while until more come to market.
