See South Jersey as the American Indians First Did at Absecon Lighthouse
Absecon Lighthouse, New Jersey's tallest, continues to present excellent cultural programs celebrating the rich history of South Jersey and Atlantic City. This Sunday, November 13th, as part of American Indian Heritage Month, Absecon lighthouse hosts a special presentation... by Lenni Lenape Indian Dick "Quiet Thunder" Gilbert. The presentation, from noon to 3pm, includes an artifacts exhibit and an explanation of how the Lenni Lenape tribe fished, hunted, farmed and lived on Abseon Island before European contact.
