If you use Route 47 to get from one side of Dennis Township to the other, plan on using a detour next month.

According to a post on the Dennis Township municipal government Facebook page, the State will be repairing the bridge on Route 47 at Johnson Pond, which is just west of Petersburg Road at mile marker 18.5, beginning on Monday, April 19th.

Officials say the work should last about a month as workers replace the bridge deck.

When the road closes, it will be in both directions at the same time. And while an official detour has not yet been posted by the NJDOT, drivers could plan on using County Routes 611 and 638, which is about a ten minute drive around the closure point.
