If you remember when the Somers Point KFC restaurant on MacArthur Blvd. was torn down and replaced with a new "Super Wawa", you have been around town for a minute.

That change took place in 2013.

Since then, the MacArthur Blvd. Wawa has become a staple in Somers Point and for folks headed over the 9th Street Bridge into Ocean City.

That is, until late January when the Wawa store closed down for renovations.

Well, those renovations are over and the store is about to reopen.

An employee I spoke with on Tuesday night said they "entirely gutted" the inside of MacArthur Blvd. Wawa. "People are going to love it."

Somers Point Wawa To Reopen

The remodeling is complete and the Somers Point Super Wawa is set to reopen on Friday, February 28th.

To get a sense of what the Wawa store might be like after a month-long makeover, we investigated Wawa's new store prototype, which they began rolling out in 2023.

In the prototype, Wawa has raised the ceiling and added larger windows to offer more space and light, while also applying a “warm and inviting” color palette.

Chances are the new location will feature the retailer’s made-to-order, fresh food kitchen, including its hoagies, Wawa pizza, specialty beverages, and more.

This location could also offer mobile ordering, curbside pickup, and delivery, as well as Wawa’s catering service.

Wawa Offers Free Coffee

To celebrate the store's reopening and to thank the loyal users of the Macarthur Blvd. Somers Point Wawa, the location will be offering free coffee all day on Friday.

So stop in and check out the remodeling at the Somers Point Wawa and grab a free cup of joe on Friday.

Now Wawa should think about updating the store on New Road in Somers Point, which is entirely old school and has been around since dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
