Popular South Jersey Beer & Pizza Joint is Closing Down

As the saying goes, 'Nothing is constant but change'.

After 17 years, Wildwood brewpub Goodnight Irene's announced on Facebook they are closing for good this Sunday, November 17.

AND THATS A WRAP FOLKS! After 17 incredible years, this weekend will sadly be our last…

We appreciate you all more than you know. Tonight through Sunday night will be the last time for goodbyes, so we hope to see as many of you as possible.

The word is the business has been sold and a new establishment will be moving in soon. We shall see.

Popular Wildwood Bar Will Be Missed

Goodnight Irene's, at 2708 Pacific Avenue in Wildwood, (in the spot of the old Poplar Cafe, if you are old enough to remember) will close this Sunday, leaving a hole in Wildwood's nightlife choices.

First of all, Goodnight Irene's was year-round and there are never enough good year-round places to go in the Wildwoods.

They arguably had the best selection of draft and craft beer on the island, with 44 beers on tap in the summer and 36 in the winter.

Even though they technically were not a brewpub -- they didn't make beer -- it was a favorite with the craft brew crowd, serving Dogfish Head, Blue Point, River Horse, Stone Brewing and lots more.

They made a good brick-oven pizza, had Quizzo night, were a good place to watch a ball game, and offered live music on the weekends.

Mostly though, Goodnight Irene's was a fun place to hang out AND they allowed dogs and that was cool.

Nooo! My favorite bar. I’ll miss it and all the wonderful staff/friends. My pup won’t understand what happened. He loved it there too.

Spent my best summer in there and met my love of my life at Irene’s. So sad to hear this. Best of luck, you will be missed!

Watched the Phillies win the World Series there and the party went on all night, lot of great times

Noooo! This is my favorite bar in Wildwood and I can walk there! We will all miss you so much, best beer selection and great pizza, I’m genuinely so sad
