Popular Egg Harbor Township Gaming Store Nerdvana Closes

The gaming and hobby store Nerdvana, in the English Creek Shopping Center in Egg Harbor Township, has closed.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, Nerdvana Tabletop Games closed on Sunday saying financial troubles had become too much to overcome.

The store's owner posted on the Discord gaming platform that he hoped another store would take Nerdvana's place in the community soon.

"We have tried our best to get past some financial challenges but are unable to continue. We have taken steps to ensure that a space remains for the communities of the area. We are working with someone so that rapidly after we close there will be a space open again here at the shopping center."

Nerdvana's Run in Egg Harbor Township

Nerdvana had been a fixture with local gamers, hobbyists, and comic book collectors for a decade, selling board games, RPGs (role-playing games), model kits, trading card games like Magic: The Gathering, and tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons.

Nerdvana owner Josh Taylor and his staff were known for sitting down and explaining the games to customers and letting them play a few rounds with their pieces.

They also hosted regular gaming events, tournaments, and leagues. Nerdvana was a local destination for gaming enthusiasts.

This closing comes just a month after another gaming-friendly store, Level Up Entertainment, closed at the Hamilton Mall.

These types of shops aren't that common anymore so the fact that they are even here is a great service. The staff are very friendly and understanding. They have a good assortment of products and they have an area for people to play games or participate in events.

Fun place for nerds and board game enthusiast such as myself. Games be a bit pricey, but that's to be expected in physical shop. They hold daily meet ups in the back of the shop for various board and card games. A fun place to meet up and play with other people in the area.
