Left Home Friday Morning

On Friday morning at around 10 am, Jennifer Panek left her home in Middlesex on foot.

She left behind her phone and identification as was seen walking up her block.

Her friends say Jennifer, who had given birth in August, was suffering from post-partum depression.

The baby she gave birth to was her second child.

Family and friends were concerned.

According to a Facebook site set up by her friends, Jennifer had been receiving outpatient care for her condition.

Despite efforts by friends, the Middlesex Police Department, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, the woman had not been located as of Friday evening.

On Saturday (Feb. 8), police received a 9-1-1 call about suspicious items found in Haverstick Park in Middlesex County.

When police arrived on the scene, they discovered Jennifer Panek, and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No Official Cause of Death Announced Yet

Authorities have not given a cause of death pending an autopsy by the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner's Office.

Police are asking anyone in the area of Haverstick Park who may have surveillance video to contact Detective Paul Cerreto of the Middlesex Police Department at 732-356-1900 extension 366 or Detective Ryan Kirsh of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office at 732-745-3711.
