Galloway Township Police say a driver was arrested this morning in a school parking lot after allegedly fleeing from an officer.

Officials say the incident happened around 8:35 Thursday morning at the Reeds Road Elementary School.

An Officer of the GTPD initially conducted a motor vehicle stop at Reeds Rd. and Seminole Dr. After the initial contact, the driver fled the scene in her vehicle before she was again stopped, this time in the Reeds Road School drop-off area. The female driver was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.

Authorities stress that there was no student or faculty/staff involvement.

Though it is never our intention to have an incident enter onto school property during school hours, this incident unfortunately did. The matter was handled as quickly as possible, as to minimize the impact on the students present at the time.

The identity of the driver who was arrested was not included in a social media post.
