The crash reportedly took place around 12:45 p.m. today a short stretch off Tuckahoe Road in Franklin Township sadly, not far from the Downstown Airport on Route 40, according to NJ.com. Video below shows the yellow plane scattered in a wooded area.

Police say the pilot was the only person on the plane. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. No information was given as to where the plane took off from.

Because of the size of the aircraft, the accident won't be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration, NJ.com reports. Instead, it will be looked into by authorities with Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

Our thoughts are with the victim's family. We'll share more information as details become available.
