The economic fallout on the retail industry from the COVID-19 pandemic continues in 2020. The latest retail chain has just announced permanent store closing due to the coronavirus.

Party City, with over 850 store locations has just announced more stores closing their doors for good according to a report from NJ.com.

The company will close 21 stores in 2020. There are 26 Party City locations in New Jersey including Millville and Mays Landing in South Jersey. There is no word if any New Jersey location will be on the closing list.

The closing for party City began in 2019 when 55 under performing stores were closed for good after the Halloween season. Halloween is the biggest, make or break season for the party retailer.

The have been a slew of retail closings this year due to the coronavirus including Starbucks closing over 400 locations and The Children's Place closing 300 locations.
