I'm not going to lie.  When I went for lunch today and passed Harbor Square in Egg Harbor Township, I thought a homeless encampment had popped up.

Then I looked closer and realized that those people were camped out waiting for the grand opening of the flagship, Spirit store.  The store that opens tomorrow (8/1).

I'll admit, I can't see myself doing that, but I admire the dedication.

I'm told that people from all over the country come for this event.  It's a big deal.

However, if you are there now, or know someone who is, I have an important message to pass along.

The store opens tomorrow at 10 am.  The people at Spirit and the Egg Harbor Township Police, warn that you can not legally stay there overnight.

They say you may not start to line up before 7 am.

Spirit has put out this statement,

"Arrival at the event is permitted at 7 am on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Attendees will be permitted to begin lining up at that time. Those who do not comply will be ineligible for swag bags and first-entry access. The store does not open until 10 a.m. Parking in and around Harbor Square after hours is not permitted."

Then added,

"No camping or overnight guests are permitted. We would suggest that you find a local campground for accommodation if you have already arrived or were heading to the area planning to camp on site."

I would point out that if you choose to ignore the rules and stay out anyway, those men that look like police, are REAL and those aren't costumes they're wearing.
