NJ Police Will Be on the Hunt for People Who Drink and Drive This Holiday Season
I love going out during the holiday season for dinner, Christmas parties or holiday gatherings, but of course, when alcohol is involved, you need to realize how dangerous of a risk it is to drink and drive.
It's always a good to have a designated driver or leave the car at home and use Uber or Lyft, if you know you're going to have drinks. Don't drink and drive especially this holiday season.
New Jersey police will be on the lookout for those who drink and drive through the holidays as the semi annual "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" program gets underway according to NJ.com.
Police will receive extra funds from The Division of Highway Traffic Safety and will be on the lookout for people who drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Police in the following South Jersey towns will have additional patrols and funds and will be looking for drivers who are foolish enough to drink and drive this holiday season.
- Absecon $5,500
- Atlantic City- $6,000
- Egg Harbor Township- $6,000
- Galloway- $6,000
- Hammonton- $5,500
- Hamilton Township-$6,00
- Cape May Lower Township $5,500
- Bridgeton- $5,500
- Vineland- $5,500
The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign during the summer of 2019 was responsible for 1,280 DWI arrests and over 1,200 DWI arrests for the 2018 holiday campaign.
Have a happy and safe holiday season and don't drink and drive.
