UPDATE: Melanie Santo has been found!

A Somers Point woman who was admitted to a South Jersey psychiatric hospital after having what her mom calls a 'psychotic episode' has been missing since Friday.

Renee Santo has shared her story on social media after searching for her daughter without luck over the weekend.

Santo says her daughter, Melanie, was released from One Pines Psychiatric Hospital on Friday without her or Melanie's father.

One Pines is an AtlantiCare facility in Galloway Township providing mental health and behavioral services.

A Weekend Search for a Daughter in Need

According to Renee Santo, after being released from the hospital on Friday, Melanie somehow made it to the family's Somers Point apartment, but everyone was working, and no one was at home.

After piecing together her daughter's movements since she stopped at the apartment, Renee thinks her daughter just left, and she is very concerned for her well-being.

She has nothing but the clothes on her back.no ID,No phone,no money.she is off her Meds.she is likely lost and disorientated.

She was last seen at Somers Point News and Tobacco, at 501 New Road, where her mother says she borrowed someone's phone to call her father.

Her father didn't realize that the hospital had released Melanie and had a hard time understanding what Melanie was saying.

Since then, they have not heard from Melanie and spent the weekend trying to locate her. The parents are very upset.

We are inconsolable. We have searched for 2 days with no leads.Any info will help.

A Tip About Melanie on Sunday

Sunday evening, Renee Santo told me that they recieved a message on Sunday from someone saying they thought they saw Melanie on Sunday morning at the Atlantic City Outlets -- The Walk.

She said that Melanie's father spent the day Sunday driving around The Walk looking for her with no luck.

The family says that Melanie was last seen wearing blue jeans with rips in the knees, white sneakers, and a gray and pink light jacket.
