Two new wildfires are keeping firefighters busy today in South Jersey.

Fires that started on Monday in Burlington and Ocean counties were both only 20% contained at the time of the last update.

Big Rusty Wildfire

A wildfire that's burned 49 acres in Hainesport, Burlington County was threatening a neighborhood Monday evening before the NJ Forest Fire Service was able to make some progress containing it.

The Big Rusty Wildfire is no longer threatening 20 homes, but it has closed several roads and is only 20% contained.

Chopper footage from 6ABC Action News shows just how close the fire came to destroying homes in the area.

The Forest Fire Service remains on the scene with fire engines and ground crews fighting the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Ocean County Country Club Wildfire

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service says they are making some progress in containing a wildfire burning in Lakewood, Ocean County.

The fire has burned 33 acres in the area of Pine Park and the Lakewood Country Club.

As of Monday night, firefighters had contained 20% of the fire and crew remained on-site overnight with fire engines and ground crews.

Clearstream Road is closed between Brewers Bridge and Hope Chapel Road and officials say no structures are threatened.

Fire Updates Expected

The Forest Fire Service is expected to give updates on the fires at 10 am Tuesday.

Crews continue to fight the massive Jennings Creek fire in Passaic County.

Drought warnings have been issued in New Jersey and for 15 counties in New York -- including all of New York City. There is some rain in the forecast for Thursday.
