South Jersey Tavern Sold to Owners Who Made One Promise
Crest Tavern, the bar and restaurant just outside of 'dry' Wildwood Crest, has been sold to new owners.
The good news for fans of the popular tavern, which has been a fixture on Pacific Avenue in Diamond Beach, Lower Township, for decades, is that the new owners will continue to run the business as a tavern and won't tear it down to build condos.
A Changing of the Guard at Fitzpatrick's Crest Tavern
Fitzpatrick's Crest tavern, which has been owned by Tim and Lisa Fitzpatrick for the past 21 years, made special mention of that fact in their Facebook post announcing the sale.
The rumors are finally true! After 21 wonderful years of serving this community, we are officially passing the torch.
We know there's been some chatter that the property would be developed, but we're happy to share we will not be choosing that path. The Crest Tavern is a landmark in our community and will continue on inthe hands of another local family who cares deeply about our community as much as we do.
Closing for New Ownership of Tavern
The Fitzpatrick family made their happy announcement that, while they are ready to start a new chapter, they will 'NOT give you more condos to stare at!'
The Crest Tavern closed on Sunday, January 18th, and will reopen on Friday, January 23rd, under new ownership. The Fitzpatrick family even arranged with the new owners, who aren't identified, to have existing gift cards honored under the new management.
Thank you all SO much for the kind words. It has been truly heartwarming reflecting on all the good times we were able to share and the memories we will carry on with us forever. Existing gift cards will be honored under new ownership, and when they officially take over they will formally introduce themselves to you all!
