For those who have yet to discover the tasty Polish delicacy known as pierogi, you don’t know what you’re missing.

Pierogis are to people of Polish decent what pizza is to Italians, or a bagel, cream cheese, and lox is to Jewish people.

Pierogis are similar to the Italian ravioli.

They consist of unleavened dough that's cut into squares or sometimes circles.

Then you fill the dough with virtually anything.  Lots of people keep it simple and fill them with either cheese, potatoes, or meat.

Then you either boil them or fry them.

An easy way to cook pierogies is to fry them in butter and chopped onions.  Season them with garlic and serve with some sour cream.

Warning:  I didn't say they were healthy.

Yelp just released a list of their choice of 25 places in the US and Canada that they say have the very best pierogies.

Making the list at number 16 is Rosa-Ly Pierogi in Fairfield, New Jersey.
