The Lacey Township Police Department to the rescue.

Every summer, we hear about at least one case of ducks down a storm drain in South Jersey.

After all, the ducklings are small enough to fit through the bars on the drain cover, and the little guys must see water down below and think it's a quick way to get home.

Lacey Township Police Save Ducklings Day

According to a Facebook post, Lacey Township Police responded to a call saying that multiple ducklings were in distress.

This time, 9 ducklings had fallen into a storm drain, leaving their panicked mother duck anxiously waiting for help up on the road.

The Facebook post says that Lacey Twp officers Daniel Biel, John Labbate, and Daniel Primavera arrived at the scene of the ducks down the drain, in the neighborhood of the Lacey Mall.

Officer Primavera Goes Down the Drain

You have to wonder how the cops decide which of them gets the job of going into the storm drain.

Do they draw straws? Rock, paper, scissors? Do they take turns? Is it a seniority thing?

Somehow, Officer Dan Primevara was the cop who ended up down in the drain performing the duckling rescue.

May we add, Officer Primevara did an excellent job and rescued all 9 ducklings and reunited them with their nervous mom waiting street side.
