Pizza continues to be one of the most tried-and-true comfort foods, especially during these stressful and challenging times we live in.

Pizza is the number one comfort food in 33 states including New Jersey thanks to a recent survey from the website Treadmills Review.

When it comes to the best pizza in the entire country, look no further than the Garden State thanks to folks at Food and Wine and author David Landsel for recognizing New Jersey as the Best Pizza State in the entire nation.

To be honest, the news comes as no surprise to me. We are so fortunate and spoiled to have some of the best pizza joints anywhere. Have you ever tried a slice of pizza in Florida?

The article and author David Landsel also gave big shout outs to some outstanding pizzerias in our home state including Papa's Tomato Pies and DeLorenzo's Tomato Pies in Robbinsville, Patsy's Tavern in Patterson, Kinchley's in Ramsey, Una Pizza Napoletana in Atlantic Highlands, and Rosie's in Point Pleasant.

One of my all-time favorites places for pizza, Manco and Manco in Ocean City also got a huge shout out! I love to get their extra cheese and sausage pie. Manco and Manoc have been serving hot, fresh, and delicious pizza on the world-famous Ocean City Boardwalk since the summer of 1956.

We have so many outstanding pizza places to choose from. My recent favorite is the Grandma pie at Little Italy on Tilton Road in Northfield. I also love the pie at Carluccio's Coal Fired Pizza also in Northfield.
