Like a phoenix from the ashes, Toys R Us is rising up again. After closing back in the summer of 2018, Toys R Us has been hinting towards reopening their doors yet again to children and parents. Now just over a year after closing up shop, Toys R Us is planning on opening a few small stores. New Jersey will be one of the two first stores to open.

The two new stores will be opening up in November, just in time for the holiday season. The company released a press release with a statement from Richard Barry, CEO of Tru Kids and Interim co-CEO of Toys R Us, "We have an incredible opportunity to entirely reimagine the Toys“R”Us brand in the U.S. and are thrilled to partner with b8ta and key toy vendors to create a new, highly-engaging retail experience designed for kids, families and to better fit within today’s retail environment.”

The company will open a store in The Galleria in Houston Texas and right here in New Jersey at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus.

The press release went on to explain the vision of the new Toys R Us:

The stores will be highly interactive with new events and activities every day, from seeing toys displayed out of the box to test before making a purchase, to visiting different brand stations to driving learning through play embracing STEAM, or just having fun with Geoffrey ® the Giraffe in the open playspace.

The new locations will be much smaller than the original retail stores, which will keep costs down.
