Today, Gov. Murphy announced plans for all New Jersey teachers, child care and transportation workers who will now be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting March 15th.

Now comes word from the Governor, that the list for those eligible for the vaccine, will be expanded even further starting March 29th according to the Galloway Patch.

The newly expanded vaccine list will now includes the following essential frontline workers:

  • Food protection including grocery and restaurant workers
  • Eldercare and support
  • Warehousing and logistics
  • Social services support staff
  • Hospitality
  • Elections Personal
  • Medical supply chain
  • Postal and shipping services
  • Clergy
  • Judicial System

According to  NJ.com, Over 70,000 doses of the approved vaccine from Johnson & Johnson should be available by the end of the week and over 22,000 doses will be available at CVS and Rite Aid. CVS locations where you can schedule a shot by appointment only include Brigantine, Vineland and Voorhees.

More than 2 million doses have been given out so far this year including over 690,000 second dose shots.

I was one of the fortunate ones to receive my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine a the the Atlantic City Mega Vaccination Site at the Convention Center.  I can't say enough about the New Jersey National Guardsmen and women, the staff of AtlantiCare and the Atlantic City Convention Center. Everything went so smoothly and was so well organized.

Vaccine scheduling through AtlantiCare  happens three times a week:

  • Tuesdays at 3 PM
  • Thursdays at 6 PM
  • Saturdays at 9 AM
