Wearing a gun in the waistband of his pants to an Easter party in the park didn't go so well for a Millville man Saturday afternoon.

Police in Glassboro responded to a family Easter celebration at a park on South Delsea Drive Saturday evening after a call that one of the guests at the party lifted his shirt, showing a gun in his waistband.

Glassboro Police posted about the call on Facebook.

On April 19, 2025 at approximately 6:54pm, officers were dispatched to South Delsea Drive Park for the report of a male with a firearm. The caller could only provide the description of a black male in a white SUV and as officers responded they located a white SUV on Delsea drive and conducted a motor vehicle stop.

The police told the six people in the vehicle to get out one at a time. Three children, ages 1, 5, and 1,3, and two of the three adults complied.

One front seat passenger initially refused to get out of the SUV, according to police.

Once the man finally left the vehicle, police found the gun in the passenger side door area where the man had been sitting.

The man was identified as Jauwan L. Green, 26, of Millville.

Green was charged with counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon without a permit, terroristic threats, possession of a defaced firearm, and a disorderly persons offense of engaging in alarming conduct.

He is being held in jail until a court date.
