Marlene’s Music History Moment : 6/5/1971 [VIDEO]
Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images[/caption]Would you believe...James Taylor's 'You've Got a Friend' was released 44 years ago today?? Yep...44 years!!
It was written by Carole King, and though they each recorded it, James Taylor's version is much more well-known. My older siblings had both Carole King's 'Tapestry' album as well as James Taylor's 'Mud Slide Slim'. And I must say I probably wore out both albums equally!
When I hear that song today, it still sounds as good as it did the first time I heard it. With it comes a rush of fond memories that I will forever cherish. James Taylor was and still is a very special artist to me, and judging by his sold-out shows even today, I'm sure a lot of people agree. With James Taylor, even after 44 years, You've Got a Friend. :)
