
Man With 2 Aliases Pleads Guilty to 3 Crimes in Atlantic City
A man arrested twice in Atlantic City in October 2024 pleaded guilty Friday to theft, hindering apprehension, and drug charges and is facing time in prison.
Tyree Gittens, a.k.a. Tyree Brewer, a.k.a. Michael Gould, 31, from Blackwood, pleaded guilty to third-degree theft, third-degree hindering apprehension, and disorderly persons narcotics offenses in exchange for a recommended sentence of three years in state prison, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

ACPO officials say Atlantic City Police saw Gittens displaying signs of distress inside a restaurant on Oct. 9, 2024.
When questioned by police, he said he was chased inside by a woman with a baton-like stick.
Police spoke to the woman, who said that Gittens had stolen her package, which had been delivered outside her home.
The woman had video of the incident, and the police identified the suspect as Gittens, according to prosecutors. Gittens was charged with theft.
On October 27, police were called to Dollar General in Atlantic City to respond to a man acting irate and attempting to steal items from the store.
Atlantic City Police approached Gittens, and he admitted that he did try to steal from the store.
Gittens was carrying various identification cards that did not belong to him, and he gave police conflicting names, ACPO officials said.
Tyree Gittens is scheduled to be sentenced on June 13.
