Juice Company to Build New $200M Facility in South Jersey

Lassonde Industries, the company that quite possibly makes your kid's juice boxes, has announced plans to build a $200 million state-of-the-art facility in South Jersey.

The new beverage manufacturing facility in Upper Deerfield, Cumberland County, will be on a site adjacent to the corporation's existing plant and will eventually replace it.

Drink Manufacturer Doubles Down on Cumberland County

Lassonde Pappas unveiled a proposal earlier this month to expand its existing distribution building and invest $200 million to construct a new, 200,000-square-foot beverage production facility.

The project will retain 200 jobs provided by the long-time Cumberland County drink-based manufacturer.

"The support we have received from Upper Deerfield Township and Cumberland County in New Jersey has been instrumental in making this new facility a reality," said Amanda Burns, with Lassonde Pappas and Company Inc.

"For several decades our U.S. business has called Cumberland County home and this investment further underscores our long-standing commitment to the community and our belief in its continued growth and prosperity."

The company manufactures Apple & Eve brand juices, which were a mainstay with kids in juice boxes for ages. They also make Old Orchard juices, Northland juices, and Ruby Kist juices.

Lassonde Industries plant in Upper Deerfield is one of 19 plants located in Canada and the U.S.

The South Jersey facility is the only plant in the Lassonde network to produce canned cranberry sauce and press cranberries.

According to its website, Lassonde Pappas also offers organic, natural, and conventional shelf-stable juices, lemonades, ready-to-drink teas, enhanced waters, isotonics, cranberry sauces,custom-blended smoothies, and much more.

Lassonde acquired the Seabrook Plant in Upper Deerfield in 1982. The plant was built in 1935.
