Missing 14-year-old Still Not Found; Wildwood Strongly Urges Ocean Safety
Wildwood, N.J. — As the weather turns warmer, the City of Wildwood continues to ask beachgoers to take water safety seriously following the disappearance of a 14-year-old Philadelphia boy who went missing after entering the ocean Monday afternoon.
That teenager, Davoris Carter, disappeared Monday while on a class trip to the shore with Delta School, a private school for students with special needs.
Authorities said that while the initial large-scale search operation has ended, the Wildwood Police Department, Wildwood Beach Patrol, and New Jersey State Police Marine Unit continue to actively monitor the area using drones and other resources.
Deputy Mayor and Commissioner of Public Safety Steve Mikulski said in a statement, "This tragedy has impacted everyone who has heard this story. Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and all those affected."

Wildwood Leaders Emphasize Swimming at Guarded Beaches
City officials are using this tragedy to deliver a critical message: only swim at guarded beaches when lifeguards are on duty.
Through June 16th, lifeguards will be on duty at designated beaches on weekends at 26th Street and at Cresse, Leaming, Rio Grande, Andrews, Baker, Youngs, Spicer, Lincoln, Oak, Maple, and Magnolia Avenues.

Those who are beach-bound are reminded to never swim alone, closely supervise children at all times, and remember that ocean conditions can change rapidly and without warning.
Missing Swimmer Still Not Located in Ocean City
This is the second ocean-related tragedy at the Jersey Shore within the past few weeks.
On Monday, May 18th, a 20-year-old Hofstra University student went missing after a wave knocked him off a boogie board off of the 10th Street beach in Ocean City. His body has not been recovered.
