Westmont Diner in Haddon Twp., NJ, Reopening 1 Year After Fire
A decades-old diner in South Jersey is getting ready to reopen almost a year after a devastating fire, and it will now be more than just a spot to grab pancakes and coffee.
March 2025 Diner Fire
It was during the early morning hours of March 26, 2025, that firefighters were called to the Westmont Diner on West Cuthbert Blvd. in Haddon Township, Camden County.
Initial reports said flames damaged some equipment on the diner's roof.
Once the situation was under control, the owners of the diner took to Facebook and said,
We’re heartbroken to share that our diner will be closed until further notice due to a fire. Thankfully, everyone is safe, but the damage requires us to pause operations while we assess and make repairs. We appreciate your support, patience, and understanding during this difficult time.
That was followed by an update that suggested that the fire was contained to the kitchen area and the diner may reopen in a couple of weeks, "but it could be longer."
The Wait Was Almost a Year
"Longer," in this case, was just shy of a full year.
But now the wait is over. The owners of the diner again took to Facebook earlier this week with some exciting news:
After months of rebuilding and reimagining, we’re proud to introduce the next chapter: The Westmont. What began as a diner has grown into something more. A place for work mornings, weekend brunches, celebrations, and everyday moments done beautifully. Same heart. Elevated experience.
The diner didn't offer any specifics; however, they did mention, "...our new menu is going to be much more elevated with some exciting new dishes...".
Soft Reopening This Thursday
Foodies in and around Camden County are invited to check out The Westmont during its soft reopening this Thursday, March 12th, from 8 AM to noon.
