Philadelphia Man Sentenced in $61,000 South Jersey Verizon Store Robbery
Philadelphia — A Philadelphia man is headed to federal prison for his role in the armed robbery of a South Jersey Verizon store where he forced employees into a back room at gunpoint before fleeing with more than $61,000 in electronics.
Last week, 23-year-old Tymair Harris was sentenced to 52 months behind bars, followed by three years of supervised release.
Federal authorities said on November 28th, 2022, Harris and his co-conspirators entered a Verizon Wireless store on Route 73 in Voorhees.
Harris used a firearm to force employees into a back room where a safe was kept, holding them at gunpoint. He and his co-conspirators then fled with over $61,000 worth of electronics.
Later that evening, Harris was apprehended by police following a nine-mile chase from Voorhees to Philadelphia.
Harris was charged by indictment in April 2025 and pleaded guilty in March to conspiracy to commit a robbery interfering with interstate commerce (Hobbs Act robbery).
The case was investigated by FBI Philadelphia's Violent Crimes Task Force and South Jersey Resident Agency.
