North Wildwood DWI Arrest Leads to Drug and Weapon Charges

North Wildwood, N.J. — A Pennsylvania man found in the back seat of a vehicle following a multi-car rollover Monday evening was arrested on DWI charges, with police saying they discovered drugs, paraphernalia, and an expandable baton inside the vehicle.

55-year-old Michael D. Lovecchio of Ridley Park, PA, was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon, and certain persons not to possess weapons. He was lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Facility on a warrant under New Jersey Bail Reform.

North Wildwood Police responded to the area of 1st and New Jersey Avenues around 5:22 PM for a reported rollover involving multiple vehicles.

Officers say they found Lovecchio in the rear seat showing signs of impairment and observed evidence of controlled dangerous substances inside the vehicle. A search warrant led to the discovery of Xanax, drug paraphernalia, and an expandable baton.
