Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With Truck in Somers Point, NJ

Authorities in Somers Point say a motorcyclist was killed in an accident with a truck Tuesday morning.

In a brief statement posted to social media, the Somers Point Police Department says 49-year-old Vincent Sanborn IV of Egg Harbor Township collided into the side of a Mac flatbed carrier truck at around 9:20 on Bethel Road near Route 9.

Sanborn IV was pronounced dead at the scene.

The unidentified driver of the truck was not injured.

Police say the accident remains under investigation.

Second fatal accident

This is the second fatal motorcycle accident in Atlantic County in the past four days.

This past Saturday night, 41-year-old Anthony Canizzaro of Egg Harbor Township was traveling on a motorcycle westbound on Mill Rd. in the area Tremont Ave. in EHT when he struck the back of a horse trailer.

Canizzaro was pronounced dead at the scene.
