Two people suffered minor injuries after an SUV crashed into a house in Egg Harbor Township Monday afternoon.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department says the accident happened just before 1:45 in the area of Ocean Heights Avenue and Steelmanville Road.

Investigation

According to officials, 36-year-old Vienna Vaccaro of Egg Harbor Township was driving southbound on Ocean Heights.

When making a left turn from Ocean Heights Avenue to Steelmanville Road, the vehicle left the roadway through the northeast portion of the intersection striking a traffic standard rendering the traffic signal inoperable. The vehicle continued forward and crashed into the residence located at 4000 Ocean Heights Avenue causing structural damage.

No one inside the house was injured.

Minor Injuries

Egg Harbor Township EMS responded and treated Vaccaro and her juvenile passenger. They were taken to Shore Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Those in the house were displaced due to utility damages from the crash.

Police say their investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
