While Speaking, Former Ventnor, NJ Mayor Ordered To ‘Sit Down’
Former Ventnor City Mayor Tim Kreischer took to social media to blast the City’s Planning Board for how he was treated in open public session.

Former Mayor Tim Kreischer was elected a record 4 times (tied with former Mayor Ted Bergman) to the Ventnor City Commission as follows:
- 1992
- 1996
- 2000
- 2004
Kreischer lost the election of 2004, in part because of approving (7-figure) funding for the Ventnor Community Center — Library, located on the beach and New Haven Avenues in Ventnor City.

Kreischer Is Never Short Of Original Ideas
Kreischer has more direct experience than all 3 current City Commissioners and the various appointed board members put together.
Also, as a former 16-year member of the Ventnor City Commissioner, Kreischer has earned the right to be heard — and, should be treated with respect.
September 28, 2026 Planning Board — Revised Master Plan Reexamination Report
I asked questions about several provisions in the revised report, including tax abatements and the proposed redevelopment area along Ventnor Avenue from Portland Avenue to Troy Avenue. When I asked whether my previous recommendation concerning the Ventnor Avenue School building had been discussed, I initially received no response. Eventually, a commissioner stated that the City supports keeping the building-but also told me he was "kind of tired of hearing it,” said Kreischer.
There’s More …
I found that comment astonishing. A resident should never be made to feel that asking legitimate questions is an inconvenience, said Kreischer.
”I then raised other suggestions I had previously submitted. The chairman stopped me, saying I was talking about ordinances and that this was not the appropriate time to discuss them.”
If not then … when?

In summary, Kreischer reasonably concluded:
Those words mean very little it, when a resident actually exercises his right to participate, the response is:
- We don't have to listen to you.
- We don't have to answer your questions.
- We decided which recommendations were "necessary." “Getting tired of hearing it.”
- And now, ”sit down.”
Will former Mayor Tim Kreischer run in the next election for the Ventnor City Commission.
