Atlantic County, NJ Sheriff Wants To Debate His Challenger
Most people in Joe O’Donoghue’s position would not want to debate their opponent. Many, if not most incumbents avoid giving their opponent such a one-on-one, equal footing opportunity.
Joe O’Donoghue is the Sheriff of Atlantic County, New Jersey.
Atlantic County Republican Chairman Don Purdy

Purdy had previously announced that the Atlantic County Republican candidates would not be debating their Democrat opponents during this election season.
O’Donoghue Thinks Otherwise

Unlike many incumbents who hide from debates, O’Donoghue is enthusiastic about debating his opponent — Sean Riggin.
Sean Riggin

Riggin is the civilian director of public safety for the City of Atlantic City.
Riggin is also the retired Chief of the Pleasantville Police Department.
Two Previous Offers Were Extended To Host A Sheriff’s Candidates Debate

A talk radio personality from WOND Radio and myself, on WPG Talk Radio 95.5 — each have offered to host a debate in the interest of the voting public.
It appears that neither of these offers will be accepted by both parties.
The latest news that I have heard about this is that Purdy is working to find a location to hold the debate that is agreeable to both sides.
Confirmation could come as early as today.
This is a developing story. Updates as warranted.
