To say it was a bad scene in Center City Philadelphia Tuesday night would be an understatement in the aftermath of the looting of several stores, including Apple and Lululemon.

While South Philly was celebrating the Phillies Wild Card Playoffs berth, the scene could have been more opposite midtown.

What was unfolding in Center City was beyond disheartening.

Looters reportedly broke into, vandalized, and stole from several retailers, making off with armfuls of merchandise.

Some store shelves, like those in the Apple store, were left completely bare.

Piles of clothing could be seen outside the Lululemon store at 17th and Walnut Street in photos posted by Word to the Wise on Instagram.

The mayhem followed protests Tuesday after news broke that a Philadelphia Police Officer would not be charged in the death of Eddie Irizarry.

Once nighttime arrived the protesting turned into looting.

On August 14th, Irizarry was shot six times by Officer Mark Dial during a traffic stop, 6abc.com reports. It was a killing many view as unwarranted and excessive force at the least. In a press conference, prosecutors say they are regrouping and reviewing more evidence in the case.
