After all these years, REO Speedwagon bassist Bruce Hall says the band gets just as excited for a show today as it did back in the '70s.

"We're coming and we're going to give them a great show. We don't have bad shows anymore. We always play really well. I love playing the old songs. We give the folks what they want to hear, the hits they grew up with."

REO Speedwagon headline a show Saturday, Oct 24 at Harrah's Atlantic City. Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG is giving you tickets to see REO this week on the Lite Rock Morning Show with Eddie Davis.

Getting their start way back in the 1960s during their college years in Campaign, Illinois, the group released its first album — the self titled "REO Speedwagon" in 1971, followed by REO/TWO  which set off a string of hits. In 1980, a certified platinum album, "Hi Infidelity," sold 22 million copies in the United States and another 40 million around the globe.

Since that time, they've gone on to stardom with a stream of hits like "Time for Me to Fly," "Take it On the Run," "Keep on Loving You," "Roll With the Changes," "Don't Let Him Go," "Can't Fight This Feeling," "Ridin' the Storm Out," and "In My Dreams".

The current band lineup also includes Kevin Cronin on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards,  Neal Doughty on keyboards, Dave Amato on lead guitar and Bryan Hitt on drums. Hall says they still love touring and performing, even though the band members are now in their 60s and 70s.

"Touring is what we love to do," he said. "We've been doing it ever since I can remember. I've been in the band almost 40 years. Touring is what we do best. We used to make records, we still can, but touring is one thing, getting out playing for the folks and the kids. REO does it better than anything and we love to do it."
