Humane Society of Ocean City’s Howl-O-Ween Parade Info
The fourth annual "Howl-O-Ween" Parade, hosted by the Humane Society of Ocean City, happens this Saturday, Oct. 26th on the Ocean City Boardwalk.
Contestants are encouraged to dress themselves and their pooch in zany, fun Halloween costumes in the spirit of the season.
Registration begins at 1 pm at the Sports & Civic Center at 6th Street and the boardwalk. The parade starts at 3 pm and runs from 6th Street to 14th Street.
Each entrant will be limited to registering two dogs. If more dogs are to be registered, they will need to be registered by another person.
This Weekend Is the 'Dog Days' on the Ocean City Boardwalk
This weekend is the only time of the year that dogs are allowed on the Ocean City Boardwalk.
The fourth annual Dog Days is on Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 26 and 27.
Leashed dogs will be permitted on the boardwalk on Sat Oct. 26 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Sun. Oct. 27 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Timeline For Saturday's Dog Days Events
- 11 am to 1 pm: Free photos with Santa in a lifeguard boat at the Ocean City Music Pier
- Noon: The Humane Society of Ocean City's announcement of Ocean City’s “Pet of the Year” at the Ocean City Music Pier (Moorlyn Terrace and Boardwalk)
- 1 pm: Day-of parade registration and pre-registration packet pickup starts at the Ocean City Sports and Civic Center (Sixth Street and Boardwalk)
- 3 pm: Boardwalk parade starts at Sixth Street and continues to 14th Street
Special Guests & the Parade Grand Marshal
Ocean City will welcome Vince Papale as the grand marshal of the annual Howl-O-Ween Parade.
Papale was a 30-year-old teacher, coach, and part-time bartender when he attended a public tryout for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1976.
Not only did he make the team, but he became a fan favorite and earned the team’s “Man of the Year” honors in 1978 for his gritty play on special teams. His story is the subject of the film “Invincible.”
PHL 17's Kelsey Fabian and Jenna Meisner will co-host the Pet of the Year crowning and take part in the Howl-O-Ween Parade
Lite 96.9's Eddie Davis will be on hand with his dog Sheba, an alumnus of the Humane Society of Ocean City
The one and only Phillie Phanatic will help lead the pack for this year's parade!
Dog Days Vendors & Photo-Op Stations
On Sat, Oct. 26, activities will include dog-specific vendors along the Boardwalk and photo-op stations.
The vendors will have a variety of dog treats, collars, and accessories for sale.
