The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced Thursday that it has awarded $150 million in grants for road and bridge improvements to 540 communities across the state.

The DOT said they received 595 applications from 540 municipalities, and $375 million was requested for municipal road work in 2025.

Not every town got what they wanted, but, everyone that applied for a grant received some funding.

Many South Jersey towns did receive a considerable amount of money to handle some much-needed road repairs.

Ten Atlantic County Towns & the Money They Received

Overall, Atlantic County received $5,761,015.00 in grants for road improvements and repairs.

- Atlantic City received over $546,000 for the paving of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. AC could use another grant to fill some of those craters on Atlantic Avenue.

- Brigantine got a grant for $343,785 to improve pedestrian safety at the Bayshore Avenue intersection and for improvements at 5th St South and 10th St South.

- Galloway Twp. received $320,866 for the resurfacing of Collins Road.

- Ventnor was awarded $229,190 for the "optimization" of the traffic signals on Atlantic Ave.

- Pleasantville got $474,783 for improvements to Windsor Avenue and Richmond Avenue.

- Egg Harbor Township received $183,352 for the reconstruction of Robert Best Road Phase 2

- Hamilton Township was awarded $206,271 for the reconstruction of Babcock Road

- Absecon received $275,028 for the reconstruction of Delaware Avenue.

- Somers Point has $343,785 to use for the reconstruction of Ambler Road.

- Hammonton was granted $229,190.for road and dranage improvements to 13th Street.

Five Cape May County Towns & the Money They Received

Overall, Cape May County received $2,483,672 in road grants

- Ocean City was granted $174,009.for road work on Wesley Avenue from 1st to 5th Street

- Lower Township received $158,900 for the reconstruction of Beach Avenue and Delaware Avenue.

- Wildwood got $206,536 for road work on Lincoln Avenue.

- Middle Township was awarded $ 189,828 for improvement to Pacific Avenue and its sidewalk.

- Woodbine got $126,552 for the reconstruction of Heilrpin Avenue

Five Cumberland County Towns & the Money They Received

Overall, Cumberland County received $3,209,188 for road projects in 2025.

- Bridgeton was awarded $575,521 for improvements on Edgewood Avenue, South East Avenue, and Walnut Street

- Millville received $446,754 for improvements to Geissinger Avenue.

- Vineland got $536,527 for the resurfacing of Walnut Road

- Commercial Township is receiving $279,190 for the reconstruction of Whittier Drive and Magnolia Drive

- Upper Deerfield Township was awarded $279,190 for road work on Quail Ridge Drive, Partridge Court, and Covey Court.
