Mays Landing, NJ, Gym Announces It’s Closing Up For Good This Month

If you're a current member of Hometown Health and Fitness in Mays Landing, you need to pay attention.

You may have heard the news, but plenty of members have revealed via social media that they have yet to receive the email confirming that the gym will be closing up shop for good at the end of the month. In a Mays Landing-based Facebook group, the discussion is full of members who claim to have never been notified personally of this development.

There are plenty of people, however, who have confirmed the news. Apparently, an email is making its way around to members (albeit slowly, but surely) to let them know that they have until March 31st to use Hometown Health and Fitness facilities. The email allegedly states that memberships are being cancelled due to the place shutting down for good.

Now, regarding people who aren't on a monthly payment plan, we currently have no information regarding how you'll be reimbursed. Definitely look into it because if you paid for the year already and they're shutting down at the end of March, then you have a solid nine months of payments you need back.

Regarding where you should sign up for next, there are PLENTY of places close by to choose from. When choosing a gym, it depends on your specific needs. If you're someone that enjoys swimming, you need a place with a pool. If you're not really someone who works out with weights, you might want to look into a fitness center that strictly offers group classes like Zumba and Barre.

A lot of people in the comment section have said that they plan on switching to Planet Fitness since it's not too far away.
